Summer 2 Network Meeting – 6 July

Summer 2 Network Meeting on Monday 6 July

Take part in our Summer 2 Network Meeting focusing on reading, music and creative engagement, with a particular emphasis on inspiring children to enjoy learning and reading both in and out of school. This session brings together speakers and initiatives that place enjoyment, creativity and motivation at the heart of reading and literacy.

Speakers and sessions

  • We are delighted to share an exclusive pre-recorded session from MC Grammar, recorded especially for the network. In this special recording, MC Grammar shares how one book changed his life, explores how rap can inspire a love of reading in children and demonstrates how rhyme and wordplay can help extend and enrich vocabulary.
  • The Rebel Reading Society exploring ways to support reading at home and help children rediscover the excitement of books.
  • Claire Halstead reflecting on the National Year of Reading, sharing insights into what has worked so far, what schools have been doing and what lies ahead.
  • The Summer Reading Challenge – introducing this year’s Read to the Beat theme, celebrating the joy of music and the power it has to move, inspire and connect us.
