Greater Depth Writing at KS1

This Greater Depth Writing at KS1 session will allow attendees to review their current provision for greater depth writers and moderate greater depth writing samples from their school against the 2018 KS1 teacher assessment framework for writing.

COURSE PROGRAMME

• Using the KS1 teacher assessment framework for writing
• Assessing writing at KS1
• Achieving the greater depth standards
• The national writing exemplification for KS1

Please have available writing samples for two children from your class who you expect to be working at greater depth (GDS) by June 2026. If possible, the writing samples should include:

• Narrative
• Non-narrative
• Recount
• Review and next steps
