Autumn 1 Network Meeting – 29 September

Join us via Zoom on Tuesday 29 September

Our autumn meeting will bring together expert voices, fresh ideas and opportunities to connect with other English leaders.

We’ll be joined by teacher and author Hywel Roberts, who will explore ideas from Botheredness: Stories, Stance and Pedagogy. He’ll consider the importance of relationships and genuine connection, exploring how storytelling, imagination and meaningful learning experiences can help children become truly invested in their learning.

We’ll also introduce Caroline Wood, our new School Literacy Network Manager. A former primary headteacher and English leader with a lifelong love of children’s literature, Caroline is looking forward to connecting with member schools and sharing her passion for helping leaders feel inspired and confident about their curriculum offer.

The session will include EYFS Top Tips from Serena Shore of Ashcott Primary School, who will share practical advice for developing confident young readers and writers in the early years.

We’ll also hear from James at the Rebel Reading Society, who will introduce some of the newest and most exciting books for children who have not yet discovered a love of reading. He’ll share practical recommendations, fresh inspiration and details of an online book club that pupils can attend with no additional preparation or workload for teachers.

Can’t make this Network Meeting? Join us at the alternative session on Monday 28 September instead.
